Traveling and Cleansing
Phew!! What a crazy couple weeks it's been. Those who have been dieting and traveling simultaneously know how difficult it can be!
I was just home for my sister's graduation and wedding shower.. and that means no blender for my smoothies and bunches of cake and sweets sitting in front of my face.
Some of the ways I was able to fight the temptations and stick to my guns I decided to list in case anyone else might be suffering from the same thing. :) (shout out to my sisters who are also eating clean- y'all made it easy!)
Many groceries stores now carry cold press juices. My suggestions is to look for ones that are made locally..those are usually going to be bottled more recently, making them fresher and contain more of their natural vitamins. In addition, look for the ones that have no sugar added.
Secondly, at those showers or celebrations- stick to the fruits and veggies and beware of dips. Stay away from the bacon ranch dips and cheese dips. My personal favorite substitute is mustard. Spicy mustard or Dijon mustard too! I opt for this as a dip for my veggies and love it!
Thankfully my sisters are all in the same dieting/exercising bandwagon as myself, so exercise was important for all of us. Big plus was that they had guest passes for me at their gym and we got to all sweat together. Otherwise, if this isn't an option for you- take the stairs, park your car further away. If you're staying in a hotel, most include a small gym...take advantage of it!
Lastly, don't stress it. Traveling and celebrations are meant to be just that- enjoying the time with friends/family. Don't focus too much on the 'can't haves', and enjoy the celebrations. Personally I was excited to be able to enjoy a little bit of that southern sunshine in our family backyard before flying back to NY.
Cant wait to be back down home in a couple weeks for the biggest wedding celebrations! Counting down!
